Community Acupuncture Project

We are a proud member of the People's Organization of Community Acupuncture (POCA), a member-run 501(c)(6) non-profit organization whose mission is to work cooperatively to increase accessibility to and availability of affordable group acupuncture treatments.

Why community acupuncture?

CA (community acupuncture) offers a unique blend of medical treatment and social justice.

In a group setting, individuals experience the calming, healing effects of acupuncture while fostering a sense of connection and support with others in their community. This inclusive approach makes acupuncture accessible to a wider audience, addressing healthcare disparities and promoting wellness for all. By prioritizing affordability and community engagement, CA empowers individuals to take charge of their health in a warm, nurturing environment.

CA runs on a sliding-scale basis – no questions asked – because money should never be a barrier to health. You will receive the same heart-centered care no matter who you are, what you look like, how you identify, or what's in your pocket.

What to expect:

During community acu, you are receiving treatment in a cozy space with several others (or bring your friends and fam!) while the needles do their magic. Clothes stay on while your acupuncturist uses distal points on the hands, arms, legs, feet, head, and ears to treat all areas of the body and mind.

Each treatment is still tailored to your unique condition and whatever you may be seeking acupuncture for that day.

A typical session last 45 minutes and you can come as often as you would like. We love to have you!

Is it weird getting treated in a room with other people?

Nope. While some people prefer the stand one-on-one acupuncture session (CA isn't for everyone), there is an incredible thing that happens when people are in a healing space together. Think group therapy or a yoga class.

Community acu also allows us to treat ongoing issues at a reduced cost, thereby making treatments more accessible without the financial burden that often accompanies multiple sessions.

Further, in our world that is overrun by social media and disconnection to others, community acu is a reprieve into the deeper connections of healing alongside others who are walking the path (and we're all walking the path).

If you are acu-curious, CA is an amazing way to experience acupuncture without the hefty price tag of a boutique-style private session.

(WARNING: CA is a gateway!! You may fall in love with acupuncture and find yourself enrolled at your local acu school...

Why "Nine Flowers"?

Nine Flowers is a Daoist acupuncture protocol designed to help navigate challenging times, the uncertainty of new beginnings, and those profoundly challenging human experiences such as anxiety and depression. The protocol focuses on a point on the abdomen, Kidney 21, You Men or "Dark Gate," which encourages us to face the unknown with curiosity and an open heart.

In a world where it is increasingly challenging to find peace, Nine Flowers offers a nurturing path back to our true selves, where we are already and always whole, inviting us to embrace these difficult emotions and challenging times as the greatest teachers of the soul.
